You will start this trek along the Mizan valley. This road passes through the Berber village of Aremd and continues towards the holy place Sidi Chamarouch. Crossing the plains dirt road will bring you to the paths taken by the mules and the high rocky cliffs of the Atlas Mountains. Crossing the river trek will arrive in the holy place. After steep climbs the path will take you to Mountain Toubkal and towards the refuge of Toubkal, which will be your place of rest for the night. 

Day 1 : Marrakech -Asni-Imlil-Refuge

Located in the Toubkal National Park in the mountains of the High Atlas, Toubkal stands at 4167 meters altitude. This is the highest point of the High Atlas of Morocco. This is a moderate course, all normal fitness walkers can follow. During winter months (October to May) the ascent can be a good ice trekking equipment is needed, that is to say, crampons and sticks for ice. Naturally, during the winter the course is a little more difficult than in summer.

Day 2 : Toubkal -Imlil – Marrakech

The second day you reach the summit of Mount Toubkal after crossing a stream located above the refuge. Because of the altitude, the course can be a challenge to certain times, but you’ll be rewarded for your effort by discovering the magnificent views. Hiking in the mountains is something not to be missed during your stay in Morocco. Reaching the summit of Mount Toubkal offers you incredible views of the entire region, sometimes on the Sahara desert, and at least on the plains near Marrakech bordered by the mountains of the High Atlas. After spending some time at the top, enjoying the view and taking pictures waiting to post them on Facebook, you will begin your descent and continue the path to return to Imlil.
