Embark on an unforgettable journey from the bustling streets of Marrakech to the serene dunes of Zagora. In just two days, you’ll cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains, explore ancient kasbahs, ride camels across golden sands, and sleep under a sky filled with stars. This trip is the perfect escape for travelers short on time but longing for a taste of the Moroccan Sahara.

Day 1 — Marrakech → Zagora

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech, ascending the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass(2,260m) and enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains.

Pause to explore the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a striking example of Morocco’s earthen clay architecture and a renowned filming location for international movies.

Continue towards Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, then travel through the lush Draa Valley, a ribbon of palm groves and centuries-old Berber villages.

By late afternoon, arrive in Zagora and trade wheels for hooves on a camel trek into the desert, just in time to witness the dunes bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun.

The day ends with a traditional dinner and an overnight stay in a Berber desert camp, complete with music, stories, and stargazing around a campfire.

Day 2 — Zagora → Marrakech

Rise early to marvel at a spectacular desert sunrise, painting the horizon in shades of gold and crimson.

After a hearty breakfast at the camp, ride camels back to meet your driver and begin the return journey.

Travel again through the Draa Valley and across the High Atlas Mountains, making stops along the way to capture the beauty of Morocco’s landscapes.

Arrive back in Marrakech by evening, carrying unforgettable memories of your Sahara escape.
